The good results of the Laramie County Community College women’s soccer team who has been ranked among the top 10 teams in the nation by the recent NJCAA women’s soccer poll, have much to do with the great performances of the new star of the golden eagles, Emi Yamamoto.

A key component of the team, Yamamoto is one of the most polished performer in the team. There is not doubt that she pulls the midfield around with her. Her work-rate, dazzling ball skills and greatly improved strength on the ball have all made her one of the most solid midfielders in the region and an invaluable member of her team.

Yamamoto joined the LCCC women’s soccer team after playing at the official minor league affiliate of the Chicago Red Stars of Women’s Professional Soccer. Before that, she had played the past eight seasons with Tasaki Perule Football Club in Japan’s L-League, where she was named Rookie of the Year in 200 and led them to All-Japan Championships in 2003, 2004 and 2007.

She has 22 international appearances to her credit, including the 2003 Asian Cup and FIFA Women’s World Cup and the 2004 Athens Olympics.
