Cross country skiing and snow shoeing opportunities are right in our back yard. If you are traveling from Cheyenne, WY, head west on Interstate 80 for about 40 miles and take exit 323, Happy Jack Road. Veer right off the ramp and then immediately left onto WY highway 210. Tie City Campground is the parking area that directly services the ski and snow shoe trails. From Laramie, head east on Interstate 80 and take the Happy Jack exit.  There is a Wyoming visitors center at this exit as well as the Lincoln monument.

When you visit the Happy Jack recreation area, you should be aware that this is a fee area. This means that you must pay a $5.00 day use fee or have a valid annual Medicine Bow National Forest vehicle permit displayed in your vehicle. Annual passes can be purchased at the United States Forest Service office for $35.00. Trail maps are available  in the warming hut near the parking lot. If you are using the ski trail system maps are affixed to trees at all major trail intersections for your convenience.
