The Mary Godfrey Playhouse is the main venue for the Cheyenne Little Theatre Players.
Performances of the Classic Radio Comedy Show will be held here in November.

The cast list has been posted for the Classic Radio Comedy Show, presented by the Cheyenne Little Theatre Players.

A blast from the past

The Classic Radio Comedy Show is presented as a reader’s theatre. There is no on stage action, so it really captures the feeling of a time when families would sit together around the radio and listen to their favorite shows. This play will feature sketches from three classic radio series:

  • The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet, starring the real life Nelson family, which ran on radio from 1944-1954
  • The Burns and Allen Show, starring George Burns and his wife, Gracie Allen, radio personalities from as early as 1929 through May, 1950.
  • Abbott and Costello, who first performed their infamous routine, “Who’s on First” in March, 1938, and continued on radio before making the leap to television in 1951.

Save the date

This type of show is easier to put on than most shows since there is no blocking to learn, so cast members require less time to prepare. Just a little over three weeks from auditions, performances will begin in the middle of November. But be quick… the Classic Radio Comedy Show only runs for one weekend, November 15-17 at the Mary Godfrey Playhouse.
