Baseball the American Sport

Baseball is a great sport, who doesn’t love baseball? All kids should be introduced to the game at some point of their life whether it be to play or just to go out to the ball game.

Baseball originally known as town ball, base, round ball or just ball pulled fans interest away from cricket. As stated on Wikipedia.org http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_baseball_in_the_United_States “In the 1860s, aided by the War, “New York” style baseball expanded into a national game, as its first governing body, The National Association of Base Ball Players was formed.”

Let’s play some ball

Cheyenne has multiple opportunities for kids to play baseball. For beginner baseball players you can sign up to play at Cheyenne Junior League http://www.cjlbaseball.com/ , the YMCA http://www.cheyenneymca.org/home/our-programs/sports/t-ball/ or Tee Ball through the city http://www.cheyennecity.org/index.aspx?NID=1865. If you are new to town and have a more advanced player you can join a traveling team. Cheyenne Junior League has a stars team http://www.cjlbaseball.com/cheyenneStars.asp or you can join the Raptors league http://cheyenneraptorsbaseball.org/. If they are 13 and older they can also join the Cheyenne Youth league http://www.leaguelineup.com/welcome.asp?url=cyblbaseball, Mustangs http://cheyennemustangs.com/ or Post 6 http://post6baseballlive.com/
