 Clinic Providing Quality Healthcare

The Downtown Clinic, located at 611 S. 2nd Street in Laramie, Wyoming, is providing free healthcare for Albany County residents.  If you or your family have a low income and do not have health insurance coverage, you may qualify for care at this volunteer-based primary care facility.  Formerly a first-come-first-serve, walk-in clinic, patients are now able to call ahead for an appointment time at 307-745-8445. Clinic hours are Wednesdays from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM.

Do You Qualify?

According to the clinic’s website their eligibility guidelines are based on income levels of 185% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines or below.  For example, If a family of four earns a monthly income of $2,575, or an individual earns less than $1,271, both are eligible.  Eligibility forms are available to fill out at the clinic office.

 Pride Prevents Care

People go without healthcare everyday because they can’t afford it or don’t have insurance coverage.  When it comes to receiving free help, pride may prevent many from receiving the care they need.  I am one of those people, or I suppose I should say, I “was” one of those people.  My husband and I do not have health insurance, and make less than the amount of income that qualified us for this service.  I do not consider myself poor, but according to the Federal Poverty Guidelines I am.  After avoiding going to the doctor for some health issues, I finally gave in and went to the Downtown Clinic.  I have had such a positive experience with the excellent care and kindness of the clinic’s staff.  If you, or anyone you know, are in need of healthcare, and live in Albany County, don’t wait, your health is worth it. You can find out more by visiting their website.
