What better way to get into the Halloween spirit than a tour of the Wyoming Territorial Prison State Historic Site.

Relive history

The Wyoming Territorial Prison State Historic Site ran as a federal and state prison from 1872 to 1903.  During its time, the prison held many notorious criminals such as Butch Cassidy, Dan Parker, Clark “the Kid” Pelton, and Ellijah Canary.

The prison hosts a plethora of exhibits to explore, including the Warden’s house and the Broom Factory.

Lantern Led Tours

During the month of October, the prison is hosting a lantern led tour of the prison. Enjoy a tour of the prison on the night of October 11th between 9:30 and 11 p.m.

Call to reserve your spot and to receive additional information :

However, if a nighttime tour isn’t your thing, you can still enjoy a tour of the prison any day until they close for the winter season on November 1st.

Open every day until October 31st

  • 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. 

Guided Tours:

  • Friday- Saturday @ 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
  • Sunday- Monday @ 2 p.m.

Admission Fees:

  • Adults: $5.00
  • Ages 12-17: $2.50
  • Ages 11 and under: free
