Crunchy Fudge Sandwiches!

Holiday Meals

Halloween has come and passed, and it is now officially the holiday season! It’s the time of year for family, friends, holiday cheer, and of course, FOOD! With so much food to prepare, it’s difficult to find home recipes that are simple yet tasty! However, I am going to give you a few simple dessert recipes, so you don’t have to stress out over the holidays! You can focus on cooking a main course, and throw together these simple and easy desserts for some seriously satisfying holiday feasts!

For this recipe, all you will need is:

  • 1 cup of Nestle butterscotch  morsels
  • 1/2 cup of crunchy peanut butter, (creamy also works).
  • 4 cups of Rice Krispies, or any oven-roasted rice cereal that you prefer.
  • 1 cup of Nestle semi-sweet real chocolate morsels
  • 1/2 cup of sifted sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of butter

As far as kitchen utensils go, all you will need is:

  • 2 bowls. They need to be medium sized bowls and not large bowls, because you will need to put these in the microwave.
  • 2 spatulas
  • Plastic wrap
  • 1 pan or dish to chill in the freezer and serve with.

  1. First, you will need to mix together 1/2 cup of peanut butter and 1 cup of butterscotch morsels in a bowl. Heat the mixture until it is smooth, and the morsels are completely melted. Heat it in 1 minute intervals to take it out and stir it for the best results. It takes roughly 3 minutes, depending on your microwave.
  2. Once your peanut butter/butterscotch mixture is smooth, add 4 cups of rice cereal and mix well.
  3. Pour HALF of the mixture into a pan or dish and put it in the freezer while you prepare the chocolate. Make sure it is even and flat.
  4. In a separate bowl, pour 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate morsels, then add 1/2 cup of sifted sugar. Mix it together.
  5. Heat this mixture for about 1 1/2 minutes. The chocolate mixture does not need to be smooth, but it can’t be too tacky either.
  6. Take out the peanut butter/butterscotch/rice cereal mixture from the freezer.
  7. Spread the chocolate over the top of the other mixture as evenly as you can.
  8. With the other half of the peanut butter/butterscotch/rice cereal mixture, evenly spread it over the stop of the chocolate layer.
  9. Place plastic wrap over the pan or dish.
  10. Put the pan in the refrigerator and let it cool for a few hours, then you are done!

This recipe is really simple, so you can focus on your main courses for the holidays and not worry about dessert! With such an easy recipe, you could easily modify it to your liking by adding ingredients to make it more festive!
