Classical Tastes

19 Oct

Looking for something different?

This Sunday October 21, 2012 at 3 pm there is a Faculty Showcase at the University of Wyoming.

Often there are instruments that I have completely forgotten about. Which is a complete and utter shame when you consider the wonderful effects of tonality. Instruments like the bassoon, clarinet, and flute can melt your soul if you give them the chance.

So naturally I was excited when I found this event. The showcase is being billed as an experience to listen to mixed chamber music performed by various and distinguished faculty members. If you come to this show you will be able to see performances by:

Theresa Bogard & Chi-Chen Wu – Piano

Lights Along the Shore – Moldovan Nai(much like a pan flute),  Clarinets, and Piano

Nicole Riner – Flute (not much like a pan flute)

Maureen Boddicker – Vocal

Mark Soueidi – Trombone

Kaori Uno – Bassoon

With such a diverse lineup it should make for a very exciting afternoon of music!

It’s in the Fine Arts Concert Hall located on the University of Wyoming campus. This is also a free event! Nothing better than a lazy Sunday afternoon being serenaded by profession musicians!

Questions about the event?

If you have any questions feel free to ask me or contact Dr. Nicole Riner, who is in charge of this event. She can be reached at 766-5242 or

Want to do more reading on the showcase?

Hope to see you there! Remember this Sunday October 21 in the Fine Arts Concert Hall!
