Let’s make a date

  Make love a priority

Sometimes, especially for those of us in college, it’s difficult to set aside money for dates with our loved ones. Here are some fun, cute ideas that let love back in without making a huge dent in the pocketbook.

Get creative

  • Start a tradition: Try ‘Pie Night!’ Every Wednesday at Village Inn, buy anything and get a free slice of pie. Get a full meal or just a cup of coffee and enjoy your honey. This is also a great group date and a chance to re-connect with friends. Don’t forget to tip well!
  • Show off: Find a restaurant or bar with free karaoke, order some fries and a drink and sing your love a song. Jackson’s has karaoke starting at 9:30 on Friday nights.
  • Go dancing: If there isn’t a place in your town to go dancing, just find a store that plays music and start cutting a rug. Guys, you will feel pretty silly, but your girl will brag about you to all of her friends.
  • Buy gifts: Take five to ten dollars apiece and hit your favorite store. Split up for fifteen minutes and find the best/strangest/funniest/sweetest gift you can for the other person. This is a cute and fun way to show your baby just how well you know them.

Always in style

  • See a movie: Get there early and talk. Movies can be expensive, but if you look around you can find discounts. Many theaters give student and military discounts. Here in Cheyenne we have the Lincoln Theater. You have to wait a little longer to see the movies, but its worth it at $3 per ticket. Below is a link for information and show times. http://boxofficemojo.com/showtimes/theater.htm?id=1s9&p=.htm
  • Grab a bite: Go out to eat. This is great because you have all of this time totally uninterrupted to catch up on what’s going on in your lives.
  •  Treat yourselves: Get ice cream or coffee and either talk or go for a walk.

The most important part is spending time together. Try these out, or come up with some of your own and let me know what you think.
