Beginning tennis at college

With advising day coming up, many students at Laramie County Community College may be trying to choose classes, including one of the P.E. classes. However, there’s a lot of variety of what you can choose and what sport you find to be the most exciting can help in which class you decided to take.  So, to help decided, looking into different classes can help.

Beginning tennis at LCCC

One of the many sport type classes available at LCCC is beginning tennis. The class will teach you the basics of the sport including the rules, regulations, terminology, and play strategies. It will also go into detail on the skills and prepare you to play the sport outside of class. The class is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. ¬10:20 a.m. For more information go to:

Basics to play the sport

Here are some of the basics that you may want to know in case you are deciding to take the class. Tennis is a singles game with one person on each side of the court, or can also be a doubles game with two people on each side of the court. Each point is started with a serve and ends when the ball is hit out of bounds. The scoring of tennis is love, 15, 30, 45 then game with love meaning zero.

Equipment need for the sport

To play tennis, all you need is: a tennis racket, tennis balls, and tennis shoes. Loose fitting clothes are also better to play in. The price of the tennis racket and shoes will depend on how serious you are in getting into the sport, however, tennis balls are usually pretty cheap and easy to find.
