The latest and greatest tablets are the gadgets to have right now. Until now, Cheyenne residents hadn’t had a full opportunity to enjoy everything a tablet has to offer. Formerly an AT&T exclusive, Verizon Wireless today released their Apple iPad. Releasing on the iPad’s heels are the Blackberry PlayBook and the Google Android powered Galaxy Tab. Now that we have choices, what can we expect?


Now available on Verizon’s 3G network, the apple iPad comes in 3 different bundles.

  • Weight – 1.5 pounds
  • Price – $630, $730, $830
  • Screen – 9.7″
  • Storage – Available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB
  • CPU – 1GHz
  • RAM – 1GB
  • Release Date –  October 28th through Verizon Wireless


Coming soon to multiple carriers, the PlayBook will be available in 3 different packages.


  • Operating System – BlackBerry Tablet OS
  • Weight – 0.9 pounds
  • Price – N/A
  • Screen – 7″
  • Storage – Available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB
  • CPU – 1GHz dual-core
  • RAM – 256MB
  • Release Date – Early 2011 to multiple carriers


Coming early November, the Samsung Galaxy Tab is shaping up to be the Android tablet to own.


  • Operating System – Google Android 2.2
  • Weight – 0.84 pounds
  • Price – $400
  • Screen – 7″
  • Storage – 32GB internal + microSD slot
  • CPU – 1GHz
  • RAM – 512MB
  • Release Date – November 10th on T-Mobile and November 11th on Verizon
