The Laramie County Community College women’s soccer team obtained a valuable victory over Western Nebraska. The Golden Eagles dominated the entire game but they just couldn’t put ball it in the net. They had possession of the ball for 80 percent of the time and they also had countless arrivals to the opposing team’s goal, many of which should have ended in a goal. Some teams don’t care how they win a game, they they only care about taking the points home. On the other hand, there are teams who not only care about winning, but they care about how they win. The Golden Eagles care about winning and having good performances, but you cannot always have these two elements together.

Golden Eagles win in PKs

Western Nebraska came out hard and they made the Golden Eagles stumble for the first 5 minutes of the game, but after coach Jim Gardner shouted at his players, they started dominating the game. Western Nebraska had a hard time controlling the ball because of the strong winds and all they could do was to kick the ball as hard as they could just to keep away from their goal. They soon realized that they had no change of scoring a goal anytime so they decided to play defense soccer and counter attack if possible. They accomplished their goal by taking the game all the way to extra time, and then to PKs (penalty Kicks). Emily Michna was the hero of the game after stopping a PK which gave the Eagles another victory.
