September 9, 2009, marks the release of Shane Ackers animated movie “9”,
with the help of film makers Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov.

“9” portrays a post-apocalyptic world after the annihilation of the human race. Evil robots ravage the land, leaving destruction in their wake. As the last surviving remnants of life, the nine dolls seek to destroy the mechanical menace that seeks to find and destroy whats left of the human spirit; mainly, the nine living rag-dolls. The quest begins to find out why these mechanical beasts are seeking to make the nine extinct and why they may be the only hope for future civilization.(Image and Synopsis source: http://www.filminfocus.com/film/9/)

According to www.rottentomatoes.com, The films story is too familiar and not as complex as may would hope it to be, the movie is still very visually pleasing. Shane Ackers attention to detail helped to enhance the movie and to draw in the audience into the desolate world that these rag-doll warriors must survive.

The bad news:

For those in the Cheyenne, Wyoming, area wishing to see “9,” you may have to do some traveling. The movie unfortunately is not playing in any of the Cheyenne movie theaters, sorry! The closest theater showing “9” is Fort Collins, CO.
